Felix Sandalov about the album: “Live at Sidur Museum” is the first live recording of the Moscow improvisational trio Bartione Dominaton, released on vinyl by the label and TOPOT promo group. The course of bringing music together, most often for lack of the best words, labeled as “avant-garde” or “experimental” and contemporary art in its various manifestations, has been gaining momentum in recent years, becoming one of the most important trends in the development of the Russian independent music scene. Indeed, the logic of free searching, the inseparable perception of form as content (and vice versa), rootedness in post-war philosophical concepts — make these two phenomena close not only in spirit but also in their direct manifestation: this is the sound pressure of Baritone Domination captured by the microphone on the site The Museum of Sidur, hardens into ingenious sound kinetic sculptures. While listening, it is easy to surrender to the speculative desire to find parallels with the creative career of Vadim Abramovich Sidur, who has gone from “Paleolithic idols” to semi-abstract metal constructions, indicating the senseless cruelty and stupidity of civilization that puts itself - and the entire planet - in danger of disappearing. The dependence of the result on the choice of the carrier is an important question for artists (is it possible to present Sidur's works made of, say, cardboard?), But in the case of Baritone Domination is also not meaningless.

The concert was recorded on a reel-to-reel tape recorder, which set both the timing of the performance and emphasized the inherent spirit of the team of spontaneity - the steps of the listeners can join the juxtaposition of saxophones and drums, and the composition is cut short due to the ending film. The music of Baritone Domination is not devoid of melodiousness - some passages can be used at all for dance treatments, because such enthusiasm and flexible groove can rarely be heard on post-jazz releases - and consistently demonstrates the outstanding mastery of the instruments, the situation, and the musicians themselves. In the solo series, Alexander Serechenko (baritone saxophone and loop station), Sergey Khramtsevich (baritone saxophone) and Peter Ototsky (drums) convince everyone that they could individually pull out a concert performance, in order to converge in a joint jam, equally inventive and accessible even to an inexperienced listener. Во время прослушивания легко отдаться спекулятивному желанию подобрать параллели с творческой карьерой Вадима Абрамовича Сидура, прошедшего путь от «палеолитических истуканов» к полуабстрактным конструкциям из металла, свидетельствующим о бессмысленной жестокости и глупости цивилизации, ставящей себя — и всю планету — под угрозу исчезновения. Зависимость результата от выбора носителя — важный вопрос для художников (можно ли представить работы Сидура, сделанные из, скажем, картона?), но и в случае Baritone Domination тоже не бессмысленный.

Концерт записывался на бобинный магнитофон, что задало как хронометраж выступления, так и подчеркнуло присущий дух коллективу спонтанности — в перекличку саксофонов и барабанов могут вступить шаги слушателей, а композиция — оборваться на полуслове из-за закончившейся пленки. Музыка Baritone Domination не лишена мелодичности — некоторые пассажи и вовсе можно использовать для танцевальных обработок, ведь такой задор и гибкий грув нечасто услышишь на постджазовых релизах — и последовательно демонстрирует выдающееся владение музыкантами инструментами, ситуацией, собой. В серии сольных выходов Александр Сереченко (баритон-саксофон и луп-станция), Сергей Храмцевич (баритон-саксофон) и Петр Отоцкий (ударные) убеждают, что каждый по отдельности мог бы вытянуть на себе концертное выступление, чтобы затем сойтись в совместном джеме, в равной степени изобретательном и доступном даже неискушенному слушателю».
